Liezel Lane is known for establishing Leadership Development Programs and Coaching Programs. She was awarded Woman of Excellence for Community Outreach in 2017 by The Atlanta Health & Wellness Festival. She is a Certified Youth Mentoring and Leadership Coach and has worked in every area in Human Resources both internationally and nationally. She also has various psychometric certifications and professional affiliations in the field. Over the last 10 years, she combined her dance and corporate qualifications by establishing a dance academy that specializes in providing girls and women the opportunity to build self esteem through dance.
Liezel Lane grew up in South Africa. As a young woman she was a nationally competitive rock climber, deep sea diver, and ballerina. As a teen she would climb up on the roof of her house to stare at the stars and talk to the universe about what she was here for. Liezel’s dancing and choreography was her most powerful coping strategy through the rough times. She spent hours planning her future.
Through her own personal experiences of emotional trauma, divorce, sexual assault, and being the kid who never fit in, she persevered. She had the assistance of personal mentors and coaches throughout her life, who walked alongside her and showed her what trust and integrity looked like. Her parents, as well, went through very hard times. But through those hard times they both taught her that she was in control of creating her future. They modeled entrepreneurship, perseverance, resilience and love.
She used the skills she acquired through her difficult journey to create her best life. One where she is a creative and brave visionary. She is a Life Coach, a dancer, the CEO of a non-profit, a wife and mother.
She daily spends her time in meditation, writing, and time with her family and students; and balances it out with a love of swimming, binge watching a great show with a glass of wine, and the occasional restorative nap.
“I was lucky enough to meet Liezel in my late teens when I was studying for a college degree that I knew wasn't right for me but felt pressured to pursue. Liezel coached me into finding the courage to stand up for myself, and choose the career path I had known all along was my true passion. What I loved most about working with Liezel was that rather than just coaching me on what to do, she saw within me what I had always known to be true and helped me find the words to say and identify the steps to take in order to take my life back into my own hands. I can't imagine how different my life would be if Liezel hadn't helped me as a teen, and I know that I am the woman I am today because her guidance empowered me to make a very difficult but life-altering decision.”
