Liezel Lane has a Masters Degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology. She is the owner and founder of MyTeenLifeCoach.com and coaches youth resilience for teens and young adults. She is also a strong advocate for Performing Arts in her community. She has maintained her dual career-interests in Psychology, Talent Development and a Trained Ballerina and Instructor for 30 years.
For 20 years she specialized in working with executive and senior management to help them mobilize change and strategy in fast and changing environments by working through the “people”. She is also known for establishing Leadership Development Programs and Coaching Programs and was awarded Woman of Excellence for Community Outreach in 2017 by The Atlanta Health & Wellness Festival.
She has worked in every area in Human Resources both internationally and nationally including HR project management, Implementing Performance Management, Organizational Development, HR Relationship Management, and Learning and Development Integration during Mergers & Acquisitions. She also has various psychometric certifications and professional affiliations in the field such as Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and The Academy of Women Emerging.
For 10 years after that, she combined her dance and corporate qualifications by establishing a non-profit dance academy that specializes in providing girls and women the opportunity to build self esteem through dance. Atlanta S.E.E.D.s® (Self Esteem Empowerment and Education through Dance) aims to develop socially and fiscally responsible girls for the future by looking at self-reflection, relationships, negotiation, fiscal management and leadership within the community. Hosting events, choreographing new material, fundraisers and opportunities for generation Z to embrace the world of their future.
Liezel has 3 wonderful teens AND loves her animals. In a blended family environment, her household sports 6 lizards, 2 fish tanks, a pair of conures who have successfully created 5 clutches (25 babies) and 2 cats - Willie and Waylen.
Apart from being a trained ballerina and multi-genre dance instructor, Liezel was a South African competitive rock climber, rafted down the Zambezi river and did scuba diving for quite a while (swimming with tiger and white sharks).
If you were to visit with Liezel, you would find that she loves a good glass of wine, nature, mediterranean music and the sea. You will also learn that although she can dance, hip-hop is the one thing she literally cannot do but continues to try and creates comedy for all those around her, because you can imagine a giraffe doing hip-hop(right?)!
“I was lucky enough to meet Liezel in my late teens when I was studying for a college degree that I knew wasn't right for me but felt pressured to pursue. Liezel coached me into finding the courage to stand up for myself, and choose the career path I had known all along was my true passion. What I loved most about working with Liezel was that rather than just coaching me on what to do, she saw within me what I had always known to be true and helped me find the words to say and identify the steps to take in order to take my life back into my own hands. I can't imagine how different my life would be if Liezel hadn't helped me as a teen, and I know that I am the woman I am today because her guidance empowered me to make a very difficult but life-altering decision.”
